@NoisyVision Onlus (2016)
The project "In montagna siamo tutti uguali"(In the mountain we are all equals) is a "turnkey" accessible tourism offer: 8 day walk along the Via degli Dei, from Piazza Maggiore (Bologna) to Piazza della Signoria (Florence) passing through the Tosco Emiliano Apennines.
It is addressed to all those visually impaired and blind people from all over the world who wish to have fun and will be willing to walk (with proper physical conditions) 130 km in eight days.
Each group will be arranged with at least 8 people and a professional guide accompanied by other 4 guides appropriately trained to ensure maximum safety to all participants.
All guides and accompanying persons took part in the preparatory courses to accompany and support individuals with visual disabilities held in 2017 both in the classroom and in the environment with specialized teachers.
The project “In montagna siamo tutti uguali” (In the mountain we are all euqals) was awarded by MiBact (Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism) and by Invitalia as an innovative project for the promotion of mountain areas.
The project was followed through in cooperation with NoisyVision ONLUS, which has been working in the field of sensory disabilities for several years and due to their exprience, they provided valuable guidance and assistance.
The challenge of this project is:
1) In terms of "Accessibility" as it offers accessible trips to visually impaired (and not only) giving consideration to their specific needs.
Obstacles and difficulties related to the environment will be overcome thanks to people who have been trained and are prepared in this subject.
2) In terms of "Sustainability" because it’s about "slow" travels, with low environmental impact but with high social value, to discover the strong and marked identity of the local host populations (locals will be the accompanies and the welcoming is developed to create a friendly and convivial environment).
3) In terms of "Cooperation": networking between Public Administration and private operators, local associations and organizations who represent and protect persons with visual disabilities.
Our goal is to boost accessible tourism by studying the necessities of the target audience,identify the requirments and get to develop around these needs a real "tourism product" which will allow the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines to become a "destination" for people with visual impairment.
We therefore want to create a complete offer (trekking, guide, accompanist, transport and luggage transport, accommodation, packed lunches, dinners, guided tours, sensory workshops ...) that can satisfy the wishes of those who want to leave for ….an adventure!
